As the year comes to a close, we can’t help but feel an immense sense of gratitude and pride as we look back on all that 2024 has brought to Sequel. This year has been about growing, learning, and pushing boundaries – and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible people who make our work so rewarding: you, our clients and partners.
Growing Together
One of the highlights of our year has been growing the Sequel family. We welcomed two brilliant new developers to our team, Rob and Gary, strengthening our ability to deliver innovative solutions and making sure we’re always ready to meet our clients needs – both now and in the future.
We also welcomed a very special (and slightly fluffier) new addition to the team: Monty, our newest office dog and Lola’s brother! He’s all kinds of mischievous – more bull in a china shop than placid office mascot – but he’s quickly become as much a favourite as Lola (and let’s be honest, they both try to steal the spotlight).
This year, we also had the privilege of partnering with six new clients, each bringing unique, and exciting projects our way to stretch our creative and technical muscles. From tackling complex challenges to building solutions that make a real difference, every new partnership reaffirms why we love what we do.
Striving for Better
At Sequel, we’re always looking for ways to improve – not just for ourselves, but for you. This year, we revamped and created new internal processes and SOPs, making sure that we’re operating as effectively as possible. More importantly, we’ve taken your feedback to heart, weaving it into everything we do.
2024 was also a year of learning and exploring. Our developers headed to Laracon in Amsterdam, soaking up inspiration and bringing back insights that are already shaping our work. Meanwhile, our operations team flew to San Francisco for Notion’s first-ever in-person conference. They returned buzzing with ideas – and plenty of new tools – to streamline how we manage projects and provide you with better access to the information that matters most.
A Year to Celebrate
We’ve had so much to celebrate this year – from birthdays to big work anniversaries, an engagement for our Director Ollie and his wife-to-be Casey, and many more milestones big and small. We’re also thrilled to have attained Cyber Essentials certification, a testament to our commitment to robust digital security, and to have become a recognised member of the Hire Association Europe (HAE), further solidifying our standing in the Hire Industry. These moments remind us just how lucky we are to work with such a wonderful, passionate, talented team. Every day, they show up with fresh ideas, dedication, and an unshakeable belief in what we can achieve together.
Innovating for the Future
This year, we’ve been diving deeper into the world of AI, working on projects that use cutting-edge technology to help our clients streamline operations, solve problems, and unlock new opportunities. The potential here is enormous, and we’re so excited to continue exploring it in 2025.
We’ve also been hard at work on our Hire HQ subscription model portal for Hire Industry professionals, which is now in beta! It’s been a labour of love, and we’re looking forward to opening it up to those who are ready to take advantage of early access in 2025.
Exciting Times Ahead
We’re thrilled to share that we’re planning a move to a brand-new office space in 2025! While we can’t reveal too much just yet, we promise it’s going to be a vibrant, fun, and innovative space that we can’t wait to welcome you into once we’re settled. If you saw our previous office, you know we love creating environments that inspire creativity and collaboration – and this new space is going to take that to the next level.
We’re also proud to announce that we’ve made it through to the next round of the Somerset Business Awards 2025 in the Best Use of Digital Technology category! It’s an honour to be recognised for our efforts, and we’re excited to see where this journey takes us.
